Before I jump into this post, I’d like to talk about your inbox for a moment! If you’re on my mailing list (or if you’re not, you can sign up at the Top Bar at the top of the screen), you are probably thinking “What is going on with her emails?” Well, I wasn’t keen on the old appearance. I was trying out a lot of new things, and didn’t want to keep experimenting and for you to get a screwy email without pictures or text missing.
You likely got an email last night with 4 posts from last week. And you probably got a second email tonight with three newer posts that went up in the last 24 hours. I waited to post until I had the the mails 99% figured out. If you’re reading the emails on your iPhone, I’m sorry if the pictures are going off the page. That is the last 1% I’m trying to figure out. I’ve called in the experts and they’re working on it!
Back to this evening’s scheduled programming…
I shopped my house to see what I had to give my nightstand a little makeover. I swapped out some things for the One Room Challenge, but I wanted to up the edgy factor a little.
I had some gold foil, so I gold foiled the glass lamp that I’ve had in the same spot for years. I like that it’s not perfect. A little rough around the edges is a good thing 😉 I bought my gold foil at Dick Blick. I got the straight line using green Frogger Tape.
I used my handy dandy spray paint nozzle, and spraying has never been easier. Thank you to the fine folks at Rustoleum and Home Depot for putting these in our swag bags at Haven! I sprayed my orange vase a nice cobalt glossy blue. I believe the actual color is “Deep Blue” and it has a built in primer. I only sprayed it once and it looks really nice.
It’s funny now that I’ve got my paint, primer and stain materials organized, that I want to start painting everything. I should take this as a sign to organize all of my materials more. My dream is to have a wood shop in my garage and a DIY/art studio in basement. I’m getting there, slowly but surely! Hope you all have a great day!
