Hello friends! It’s been too long. And I’m sorry. Truth is I got burned out. I hadn’t taken any time to relax, do non-blog things, step back and take stock (of the blog) and most importantly – get my creative juices flowing. It wasn’t a planned break. It was spontaneous; but, it felt right. And you know what? Suddenly, all of these ideas started coming into my mind!
One of the things that I knew I wanted to do, what create a new look for TSH. Everything has looked the same since I rebranded in June 2014, and it felt like a change was due. So I’ve spent the last few days hunkered down in my living room getting the new site ready to launch. What’s super cool about this new site are the capabilities it has. I’m a sucker for cool features, and this one has them. Be on the lookout for a little something extra in coming posts.
Something else that I want to include more of is my passion for cruelty-free (CF) home decor and DIY. Testing on animals for the sake of a pretty home is so unnecessary. Over the last couple years, I have been uber-conscious about what I’m buying. Sometimes I slip up after I buy things, but that’s why God invented receipts. I actually have two items on my kitchen counter that have to go back to Home Depot.
I was hesitant to bring this up to avoid being pigeon holed as a cruelty-free blog. What I want for the TSH, is to be a design/decor/DIY blog that happens to be cruelty-free. My hope is that you don’t notice a change in the content, other than you become a more conscious decor consumer. I cringe when I think of some of my more popular posts that feature brands that I won’t use anymore. I’ll be going back and editing those posts to include CF substitutions.
I’ve got BIG plans for my living room makeover this spring. We’re ripping out nasty carpet, replacing windows, all new furniture. The whole she-bang, folks. Make sure you subscribe below to get updates in your inbox so you can see how it all pans out!
Thank you for stopping by. I can’t tell you how much it means to me.
