Hello friends,
Me again with another IKEA makeover. I love my IKEA STOCKSUND 3-seater sofa. I hemmed and hawed about getting the FARLOV sectional, but my frugal butt couldn’t pull the trigger when I got down to IKEA.
So I started scouting sources for slipcovers since I knew I would still keep my STOCKSUND. I’m adamant about slipcovers on my furniture. Why? CATS. Sometimes I wash my slipcovers weekly, ugh.

- I painted my DOCKSTA table with boat paint.
- I also hacked some SKOGKLOVER roller blinds for my kitchen.
- A couple Christmases ago, I duplicated the VINTER Christmas Tree fabric.

During my time staying at home for COVID, I discovered a new source for IKEA slipcovers that is more budget friendly than other popular sources. I found the shop’s website and Etsy shop. For my specific slipcover:
LindaKaleStudio on Etsy – $249, plus $20 Shipping
Linda actually has a website, and the same slipcover is $10 cheaper and she’ll do FREE Shipping.
Same slipcovers elsewhere…
- Bemz – $329, Free Shipping
- Comfort Works – $319, Free Shipping
I wasn’t sure what to expect. My first impressions:
- The fabric was much softer than my existing slipcover. It did feel a little lighter in weight.
- The craftsmanship is spot-on. The zippers and seams all look great.
- They fit great, with almost a little room to give.
- I wasn’t expecting the gripper type material to keep the seat cushions in place, but I really like it.
- It came with side arm guards.
- There was velcro everywhere there should be. (IKEA has velcro along the bottom and in the corners of the seat to keep the slipcover in place.
How they have held up over six months:
I’ve had them for a couple months and have already washed them enough to know how they hold up in the wash. The first couple times I washed them in warm water, and they shrank a little, but they still fit great. Now, I wash them in cold, with regular detergent and fabric softener, and hang them to dry. I do spray stain remover on them before I throw them in the washer. They have lost a little softness, but are still significantly softer than my original slipcover that came with my sofa. As for cat vomit, it washes out great.
I would absolutely recommend LindaKaleStudio for slipcovers. I’ve had zero buyer’s remorse. They feel great, wash really well, and it looks beautiful. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below and I’ll respond back.
Until next time, happy DIY’ing!
