Hello friends! Are you all knee deep into post-Christmas cleaning and organizing? Yep, me too. This time of year, I am always trying to purge and figure out the best way to store things. I’m a lover of baskets and boxes, so I tend to lean more towards cabinets and closets with shelves or a bookcase I can put pretty boxes and baskets on. Case in point, my awesome emerald green closet from exactly one year ago.
Built in bookcases with beautiful trim work and moulding will always have a special place in my heart. Not only that, I still maintain that you can’t beat a good antique open bookcase. But lately, stand alone bookcases have been killing it lately – and I’m loving it! Does anyone else chuckle when the curved brass bookcases with glass shelves started to make a come back? Umm, hello, 1988… Now I think they’re fantastic 🙂
To bookcase or not?
I’m toying with the idea of some taller bookcases in rooms where the floor space is limited. I started looking around and loved some of the options out there. Before I moved my bar over to my built-in next to my fireplace, I was thinking of getting one of the metal and glass bookcases with the staggered shelves like some of the ones above. I still think it would be a really cool way to display barware, glasses, bottles of spirits, etc.
So here are some of bookcases that caught my eye… Click the images below to go directly to each bookcase’s respective site. Affiliate links have been used for your convenience. You can read my full disclosure policy here.
