OFFICE TOUR

Hello friends, welcome to my office.  I do love this room.  It was the first room I painted black.  It was the first room that I felt like I nailed it when I decorated it.  It was ME! Having a clean, appealing office means everything to me, I’ve bought loads of new furniture and even looked at getting PHS Living Walls, to spruce up my workspace.

We made the gallery shelves a year ago, and it’s one of my favorite projects to date.

I keep all of the business cards I’ve collected on a cuff bracelet that I got from Michael’s.  It’s the kind where you can un/screw a small silver ball on the end.  I punch holes in the corner of the cards, and voila!  Instant card organization.

You can read more about my desk chair here.  One of my favorite purchases for my house.  My desk is the Parson’s Dining Table from West Elm.  There is an actual Parson’s desk at West Elm, but I wanted something bigger.

I have a notebook addiction.  The black and white box on the printer is full of them.  There are the three square pads in front of the printer and then I have a stack of notebooks/folders that are just for blogging on the right side of my desk.  I’m actually in the process of designing a custom planner page for bloggers just like me, that can be printed and put into a planner.  Like I said, it’s an addiction! 🙂

The bulletin board was a plain board that I covered in striped fabric.   I still laugh when I read the small blue print in the bottom left.  In case you can’t read it, it says: “This blog runs on lots of laughter & and air-tight zombie apocalypse plan”.

The monkey below the board holds all of my paint chips that I’ve collected over the years.  In case you’re wondering, I do in fact reference them often.

I wouldn’t think I would be one for open shelving, but I do love it.  Cheap baskets, IKEA boxes and other white boxes from random places.  All of my acrylic paints are in one basket, decoupage materials in another.  The big basket holds all of my stationary.  All of my Cricut supplies are together.  And my wireless keyboard is handy if I need it.

The white tray on top of the credenza holds a variety of pen cups, each holding a specific item – highlighters, permanent markers, mechanical and my nice art pencils, another for colored pencils, and a tall mason jar for rulers and paint brushes.

The file cabinet was a clearance item at Office Depot.  It was some ugly color when I brought it home.  Then I painted it and it’s been a life saver.  It’s four drawers high and is heavier than heck.  I’m not sure what I’ll do if I have to move it some day…  The baskets hold my home decor magazines.  All of my Domino issues go in the right basket.  Everything else in the left.

I almost forgot about my Capiz Shell Chandelier from West Elm!    This is the best picture I have of it, even if it’s from my House Tour from years ago 🙂
